The Painful Truth.

Egyptian citizen Dr. Hany Souliman, a doctor, surgeon, writer and opponent of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s regime, has been imprisoned in Egypt since March 27, 2023. Why? Because of a post in which he expressed his opinion about the political system and the el-Sisi regime’s response to any democratic electoral process in Egypt.

Join the call for freedom of Dr. Hany Souliman.

This is the post that led to the imprisonment of Dr. Hany:

The Painful Truth.

Anyone who thinks, believes, imagines or is under the illusion that the Sisi regime can be removed through transparent democratic elections is dreaming, delusional, asleep or in a coma.

Al-Sisi will never, never, never accept being a „former president“ and he cannot imagine being in the dock in a military or civilian court to be tried for his crimes, nor can he imagine being a former head of state who finds himself a smuggler, becomes a displaced person or a refugee living far away from Egypt

He is afraid that his crimes, scandals, corruption and failures will be exposed, and he is afraid that he will be put on trial by a new regime and at the request of the people he ruled with iron and fire.

Al-Sisi cannot imagine living as a fugitive with his family in Saudi Arabia, for example, as Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali, the ousted president of Tunisia, did, or living in the United Arab Emirates, as Pervez Musharraf, the ousted president of Pakistan, did. He (Sisi) would be prosecuted by the authorities of his own country and tried for corruption, failure, mismanagement, indebtedness of Egypt, looting its wealth, selling its assets, preventing freedoms, suppressing voices, violating human rights, crimes against humanity, etc. , etc.

Al-Sisi,

who said, „Our Lord created me as a doctor to see and describe. Our Lord said to me, I will take the blessing with you.“ I have studied for 50 years what a country means. Sisi has reached the peak of his arrogance, even madness, and in his belief that he is inspired or entrusted with a divine mission, he will never, never, never allow anyone to remove him from his seat and oust him from his chair, which he believes is a gift from Almighty God, as he himself said.

Al-Sisi, who is obsessed with having the biggest mosque, the tallest tower, the widest bridge, the tallest flagpole, the heaviest chandelier etc. to be included in the Guinness Book of Records, believes that he will go down in history with these supposed achievements and that he must continue his career in the country of Egypt to achieve even greater and more immortal achievements in history, and therefore he will never allow anyone to prevent him from achieving these achievements, miracles and honors that God has revealed to him.

دكتور هاني سليمانThis obsession with alleged merits in Sisi’s mind and heart is further fueled by his entire environment: the high-ranking leaders of the military institutions that hold power, business, and wealth; the media professionals who support him and sell his persona and achievements to the Egyptian people; the sheikhs who present Sisi to the people as one of God’s righteous guardians; and the fake intellectual elite who take the lead in the fields of thought, culture, and art.

And because they all benefit from Sisi, his rule and his regime, they want to defend and protect him at all costs and will never allow him to be removed from power, otherwise they would lose all their achievements, interests, privileges, positions and wealth, especially if the new ruler is a civilian and does not belong to the military establishment.

Given all these factors, circumstances, and personalities, I am very surprised at those who believe that free, fair, and transparent democratic elections can be held in Egypt in which a civilian would defeat al-Sisi and take away his rule over Egypt.

As for the national political forces, the cartoon opposition parties, and the civilian statesmen who insist that a civilian can run against Sisi and rule Egypt, they are either very well-behaved, very naïve, or very, very, very, very, very good in their intentions.

If someone asks me:: How will Sisi leave then?!

Then I will answer him that, in my humble opinion, I believe that Sisi will not go unless one of these three scenarios occurs: either by a new military coup, which can be an explicit or implicit coup, or by the will of God Almighty and the end of life for some reason, or by an overwhelming popular uprising that threatens to destroy the country and that forces the group of beneficiaries of Sisi to abandon him…. and that is precisely what I do not wish to see.

I believe that it is much better to face the painful truth than to cling to false hopes or superstitious delusions or to follow illusions, lies or misinformation.
